Nokia N-Gage wird eingestellt und durch Ovi Store ersetzt

Die Spiele-Plattform Nokia N-Gage wird vom finnischen Telekommunikationskonzern Nokia im September 2010 eingestellt.

Es werden ab sofort keine neuen Spiele mehr über die N-Gage-Plattform veröffentlicht. Bis September 2010 soll das zur Zeit bestehende Angebot aber erhalten bleiben, so Nokia.

Alle neuen Handys werden in Zukunft ohne die vorinstallierte N-Gage-Applikation auf den Markt kommen. Ersetzt wird die Applikation durch die für alle Nokia-Geräte gemeinsame Software-Verteilplattform Ovi Store.

Nokia will damit den gesamten Handy-Content inkl. Spiele Download über einen einzigen Dienst vertreiben. So wird auch die N-Gage Community Stück für Stück in den Ovi Store umziehen.
